This search engine allows you to find what you are looking for by keyword without leafing through each and every photograph on the site. A keyword could be an artist’s name eg. "Stieglitz" or "Edward Weston" ; or a genre eg. "still life" or "nude" ; or a process eg. "platinum" or "gravure" ; or a date or era eg "1932" or "30’s" ; or any other defining term eg. "New York", "tree", "child", "agriculture", etc. If you would like to search with several keywords at the same time, separate them with a comma, e.g. New York, platinum, still life.

Here are some tips to enhance and explain the results of your search:

• You can locate specific photographer’s work by typing in his/her name (e.g. type "Weston").
  
  
• If you want to search by genre simply enter what you are looking for (e.g. type "nude" and you will find all the nudes on the site)
  
  
• The search engine will provide you with a "contact sheet" of thumbnail photographs that satisfy your search criteria. To see a larger view of an image of interest on the contact sheet page, and to get information and a price for that picture, click within the image area of the thumbnail itself. A larger picture will appear along with a catalogue description and price.
  
  
• Use your back button to return to the search results contact sheet page after visiting a big picture page from the search, choose another thumbnail and click on its image and repeat the process.
  
  
• If you come back to this keyword search page by using your "back" button, enter another word or words you are looking for and then click again on the submit button to begin your next search.
