Description: Photographs by Carl Chiarenza is an elegant, lavishly produced volume displaying Mr. Chiarenza's glowing abstractions. These studio constructions importantly lit and photographed transform bits of detritus into.. well... evocations of the sublime and the spiritual. The work takes the form of small intense compositions, larger panoramic views to foldout, symphonic disquisitions hinting at the scale of the originals. The printing rivals the originals in luminosity and indeed seem to be lit from within rather than from without... A trait native to Chiarenza's work but harder to find in ink. - Alan Klotz
